Music for Peace lands in Sudan

Khartoum - The mission in the Gaza Strip has just concluded, amidst many difficulties, and the volunteers of Music for Peace are already embarking on another, with Sudan as their destination. "The four containers of aid have arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, en route to Port Sudan. We are heading to another devastated country, beyond imagination. Like Gaza, but forgotten," founder and president Stefano Rebora tells Il Secolo XIX, who is leaving today along with Pietro Biondi. The newly established branch of Music for Peace in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, was destroyed in the conflict that erupted a year ago, looted, and then bombed. The volunteers will distribute the eighty tons of food and medicine along with local NGOs, as already done in September, on the front line. (9colonne)
